Institutions and Programs available for the teaching of Modern Greek to adults
Programs in the Teaching of Greek to unemployed Repatriates, Immigrants and Refugees at certified Vocation Training Centres (KEK) in order to provide equal opportunity to disadvantaged groups
In brief: The programs for teaching Greek come under the Operational Program “Employment & Professional Training.” These programs aim to develop proficiency in reading and writing Greek, as well as familiarity with Greek culture and the Greek way of life. Trainees had the option of taking part in examinations for the
Certificate of Attainment in Greek at level Β, which are organized by
the Centre for the Greek Language.
Target group: All persons registered for unemployment with the Manpower Employment Organization (OAED), whether refugees, immigrants, or repatriates, are eligible for the Greek language teaching program, regardless of whether or not they receive unemployment compensation.
Beneficiaries: 8.400 unemployed
