University of Crete

Courses in Modern Greek

In brief: The University of Crete (Department of Philology) offers summer courses every year for foreign students. Periodically, it also offers programs in Greek in collaboration with the Ministry of Education (YPEPTH) and the National Scholarship Foundation (IKY).

Target group: The programs are intended for foreign students, either (a) recipients of YPEPTH or IKY scholarships or (b) private individuals who have learned about these programs through the related website

Program of Study

The program is usually run in July.

  • Program duration: Four (4) weeks
  • Teaching hours: 80 hours (4 hours per day, Monday through Friday)

Courses are offered at three proficiency levels (beginning A1 - intermediate B1 - advanced C1).
