apers presented at the second International Lexicography Conference organized by the Centre for the Greek Language in 22nd November 2003 titled “The Lexicography of Greek Culture, Ancient, Medieval and Modern; the Contemporary Encyclopedic Lexica”.
Our aim is to present to the general public, and the field specialists as well, the encyclopedic dictionaries on Greek Culture (ancient, medieval and modern Greek). The dictionaries presented are multi-volume landmark works of contemporary philology; these dictionaries cover a wide range of fields of study, namely literature, rhetoric, philosophy, history and archaeology, and have influenced the research and teaching of Greek literature and culture – in both tertiary and secondary education.
