Institutions and Programs available for the teaching of Modern Greek to adults
Greek House
In brief: Greek House (GH) has been in operation in Athens/Kifissia since 1999, and offers programs in the Modern Greek language and an introduction to Greek culture. It aims to be a Greek cultural center providing a wide range of language classes, seminars, lectures and art exhibitions.
Target group: Greek House addresses its programs and activities to interested adults from all countries in the world. So far, GH has taught Greek to adults (17-64 years old) from 27 countries.
Courses of study:
GH organises classes in Modern Greek at all levels of proficiency and of various durations.
The classes it offers are as follows:
- a) Basic (12 to 15 weeks)
- b) Intensive (4 weeks)
- c) Semi-intensive (7 weeks)
- d) Super-intensive (3 weeks)
During the summer term, in addition to classes in Athens, a special program is also offered in Andros.
