pseudopair of words (false friends) [ψευδοζεύγος λέξεων]

Two words in two different languages that seem to have (or actually do have) a common etymological origin, but differ semantically. E.g. the English word sympathetic and the Greek word συμπαθητικός have a common origin but their use and meanings are different. This may lead students to wrong usage of these words.
