  The Modern Greek Section was founded in 1963 and is part of the Department of Classics and Semitics. Courses offered: Modern Greek language, literature and history. Duration of undergraduate studies: 3 years. Students have the opportunity to continue to postgraduate studies.
  Every semester, in cooperation with the Department of Modern Greek of the University of Stockholm, senior and postgraduate students attend two-day seminars. The university is involved in the Erasmus project for the exchanging of students from the universities of Athens and Crete. Additionally, since 2003, through the Linnaeus-Palme project two second-year students from the university of Amman (Jordan) have the opportunity to attend Modern Greek courses at the university of Lund for one semester.
