The Institute of Classics is one of the most important Classics departments in Finland. Modern Greek courses are offered by lecturer Mr. Jussi Korhonen and Pieretta Diamantopoulou (appointed by the Greek Ministry of Education).

Fax: +358 13 2514556The Department of Orthodox Theology was founded in 1988. The Department has been divided since 2002 into a) Western Theology and b) Orthodox Theology.
Subjects offered: Biblical Ancient Greek, Liturgical Greek, and Modern Greek.
Biblical Ancient Greek is a compulsory subject and its duration is 140 hours (September-May). Students of Western Theology are also obliged to attend this course. Course coordinators: Anssi Voitila and Father Ioannis Lampropoulos. Postgraduate course coordinator: Lauri Thuren.
Liturgical Greek is a compulsory course. The course is attended by students of ecclesiastical music and theology. Its duration is 56 hours and 12-14 students attend. Modern Greek is an elective course. Its duration is 96 hours and it is attended by 10-14 students. Course coordinator: Anssi Voitila.
