The Department of Classics has been operating since 1925.
Apart from the library at the School of Philosophy, there's is a library at the Department of Classics as well.
Subjects offered during the 4 years of study: Ancient Greek and Latin language, History of Translation from Ancient Greek and Latin to Arabic and vice versa, Greek and Roman History, Greek and Roman Philosophy, Greek and Roman Archaeology, Byzantine Literature, Arabic Literature, Comparative Literature, English Language and Literature, Introduction to Greek-Roman Culture, Egyptian Society, Science and Computers. It is compulsory for students to choose between Modern Greek and Italian, languages offered during the 4 years of study.
