.J. Georgacas’ A Modern Greek-English Dictionary is actually the national dictionary of the Modern Greek language. For every word, the definitions, register, history and etymology are comprehensively presented. Most importantly, all this information is—for the first time ever in the history of Modern Greek lexicography—fully documented through excerpts from authentic Modern Greek literary sources (from 1800 to the present), based on the unique Georgacas Archive of 2.5 million quotations.
The Dictionary so far includes the letter A (α-άωτον), approximately one-sixth of the entire Dictionary.
